Continuing Educational Credits

Details

Learn and earn 0.1 CEU for every session that you attend.  All NeoCon® East 2016 60-minute sessions have been submitted to IDCEC for credit. IDCEC is a consortium of professional organizations in the United States and Canada that coordinates continuing education approval activities.  IDCEC core members are ASID, IDC, and IIDA. To receive credit for the seminar you attend, pick up the CEU, LU or materials from the Door Monitor who is located at the seminar room. Follow the instructions on each card as to what you must do to comply. Below are the various certifications and procedures for industry experts. Be sure you pick up the correct paper work for your profession.

Interior Designers

Learn and earn 0.1 CEU for every session that you attend.  All NeoCon® East 2016 one-hour sessions have been submitted to IDCEC for credit.  IDCEC is a consortium of professional organizations in the United States and Canada that coordinates continuing education approval activities.  IDCEC core members are ASID, IDC, and IIDA.  

Architects

Merchandise Mart Properties Inc., (MMPI) is an “AIA Registered Provider.”  NeoCon East 2016 seminars have been submitted to AIA for review.  Upon approval, each one-hour seminar attended will result in 1 Learning Unit (LU) .  Many seminars will meet the Health, Safety and Welfare Guidelines and can be identified by the [HSW] acronym in the seminar description or can been found by searching the HSW Educational Track on the Seminar Descriptions page of official NeoCon East website.

Federal Acquisition Professionals

Many of the GSA training courses offer Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) credit.  Both the Clinger-Cohen (Federal Reform Act of 1996) and DAWIA (Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act) provide criteria for this CLP training.  At the beginning of each GSA seminar, the participants’ attendance will be captured and maintained on file.  CLPs support Contracting (GS-1102) Series, who are required to earn 80 CLPs every two years to maintain their federal acquisition certification.  CLP’s also support Contracting Officer’s Representatives (CORs) and Contracting Officer’s Technical Representatives (COTRs) who are often required, at a minimum to acquire 40 CLPs every two years.  CLP Certificates will be emailed to all participants after the session.

LEED Professionals

All NeoCon® East seminars under the Green (GR) educational track may qualify for GBCI CE Hours towards the LEED Credential Maintenance Program. Proof of attendance will be provided for your records for self-report.

Lighting Designers

All lighting programs presented under the Light [LT] educational track have been registered with NCQLP for LEU Credit for the Lighting Certified (LC) professional. One LEU is assigned for each 60 minute lighting program you attend.

Fee Structure

GSA educational track of seminars are free to all NeoCon East® attendees and are identified by the GSA logo.

Government employees with a valid I.D. may sign up for one or more of the one-hour seminars during both days of NeoCon East for a conference fee of $25.

For non-government and other attendees one-hour seminars are $35.00 each if registered online by November 4 and $45.00 each if registered on-site.

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL SESSIONS. SPACE IS LIMITED SO PLEASE REGISTER IN ADVANCE TO SECURE YOUR SPACE.


FAQs

Is there a fee to attend a seminar?

Answer

Yes, all seminars are $35 each if you pre-register online by November 4. After November 4 you must register for all seminars on-site, subject to availability, at a fee of $45 each. Partner programming and workshops vary in fees.

Can I get continuing education credits for attending seminars?

Answer

Yes, MMPI submits all 60-minute seminars for continuing education accreditation. To receive credit for sessions you attend, pick up a CEU or LU card from the door monitor located at each seminar room. Read and follow the instructions on each card to report the sessions you attended. Be sure you pick up the correct paperwork for your profession. 

How do I register for seminars?

Answer

Click 'Register' on the top right side of the NeoCon East web page. This button will take you to the registration site where a listing of seminar titles and session codes can be chosen to add to your shopping cart.

  • Select the seminar(s) that you would like to attend
  • Further instructions will be provided to complete your registration.
  • Upon completing registration a barcode will be provided.
  • Print the barcode and bring it to the show to receive your name badge on-site.

Your name badge will include the session codes, room locations, date and time of the seminars that you have registered to attend. This will serve as confirmation for admission to the seminar.

How do I find the location for the seminars, exhibitors and other events?

Answer

Locations will be listed in the official NeoCon East Show Directory available on-site. Additionally, the session room location will be indicated on your show badge. Show directories will be available at numerous locations on-site at the show including the registration area and the escalator banks.

Can I cancel my program if I cannot attend?

Answer

Yes, cancellations will be refunded in full if received in writing by November 4. Refunds will not be given after November 4 or on-site. Sessions are not transferable between attendees. All cancellation requests should be emailed to Wendy Confrey at wconfrey@themart.com

If I register for a seminar or keynote, do I have to register separately for the trade show floor?

Answer

No, your seminar registration badge will provide access to the show floor.
